Redondo Beach splits into two halves, and the work changes with each one. North Redondo Beach sits above 190th Street in the 90278 ZIP code. Those blocks are full of two-on-a-lot and three-on-a-lot townhomes, plus older houses on flat lots. South Redondo Beach is the 90277 side, from the pier down to the Hollywood Riviera. It holds the jewel streets and the Avenues. Hill lots climb east of Pacific Coast Highway. Access is what changes between the two. A townhome lot off Artesia can have a shared driveway and little room for a truck. A hill lot near Knob Hill may sit well above the street. We size the truck and pick the route before day one. Our yard is in the South Bay, minutes from both ZIP codes.
We run junk removal and property cleanouts here all year. Teardowns come next, usually an older house on a lot a builder just bought. Greg started Southwest Hauling in 1994 and still runs the jobs himself. We hold California license #792182 and carry insurance. Three crews work out of our South Bay yard with our own trucks and skid steers. A small cleanout and a full house demolition can share the same week.

Many Redondo Beach houses date to the 1950s and 1960s. On flat North Redondo lots, the cost to fix an old house can pass the cost to rebuild. So the house comes down and townhomes go up in its place. We take the structure to bare dirt and haul the debris out on our own trucks.
The slab and driveway stay behind after the walls come down. Our skid steers break that up, and the concrete removal leaves by the load. South Redondo lots run tighter, and some Avenues and Riviera Village homes only open to an alley. Higher-end jobs sometimes come with an NDA, and we keep those details private.
Demolition permits in Redondo Beach come from the Building and Safety Division at Community Development. Public Works wants a waste management plan before that permit is issued. The city asks for at least 65 percent of the debris to stay out of the landfill. It holds a refundable deposit against that number, and we keep the weight tickets from the disposal yards.
North Redondo townhome lots often share one common driveway between units. That drive is the only way in for a truck or a skid steer, so we stage one truck at a time. Riviera Village blocks stay busy with shop traffic, and we pull loads out early there. Call 310-546-4855 and we will check the access before we price the work.
