Junk Removal in Los Angeles, CA

Junk Removal · Los Angeles, CA

The same trucks that haul demolition debris will haul your junk

Junk removal in Los Angeles gets slow the moment the pile is heavier than it looks. A sleeper sofa, a dead refrigerator, a hot tub sunk into a deck, a garage packed to the door. We bring a crew and a real truck, load everything by hand, and take it in one trip. You do not have to drag anything to the curb, rent a bin, or borrow a pickup.

Southwest Hauling has run demolition and hauling in Los Angeles since 1994. Greg owns the company and runs three crews, with our own trucks and compact skid steers. The same trucks that haul demolition debris pick up junk loads between jobs. Heavy and awkward items are routine, and our slogan since the 90s says the rest: It's All About Service.

What We Haul Away

Furniture removal and appliance removal are the two calls we get most from Los Angeles homes. Couches, sectionals, dressers, desks, refrigerators, washers, dryers and old water heaters all go on the truck. Mattress removal runs close behind, and most dumps charge extra for a mattress and box spring. Garage piles hold plenty of e-waste as well, like old televisions, monitors, printers and computer towers.

Yard debris is the other half of the work, from branches and sod to pulled shrubs and bags of leaves. Hot tub removal takes more work than people expect, so we cut the shell apart in place. Debris removal after a remodel covers old cabinets, flooring, baseboard and the trim pile in the driveway. If the walls or cabinets still have to come out first, that is interior demolition.

What Happens on Junk Removal Day?

Trash hauling starts with a phone call, so describe the load or send a few photos. We look at what you have and give a free estimate before anyone drives out. Price comes from how much room the load takes in the truck and what is in it. Access and dump fees move it too, since stairs and long carries eat time.

On the scheduled day, the crew arrives, looks at the load, and starts working. You point at what goes, and we carry it out and haul it away. When the truck is full we sweep the area, check the driveway, and pull out. If a whole house has to be emptied, that is a property cleanout, and we handle those too.

Junk Removal on the Westside and in the South Bay

Our truck yard is in the South Bay, so Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and San Pedro are short runs. Long Beach marks the south end of our range, and the Westside is the other half of our week. There we work Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel Air, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. We did cleanup work after the Palisades fire, and narrow hillside streets shape how we schedule a truck.

We spent 20 years under City of Los Angeles contracts clearing vacant and abandoned properties. Most of our junk removal work now is high-end homes, and plenty of it runs under an NDA. Crews park where you tell them, keep the noise down, and leave the drive clean. Call 310-546-4855 for a free estimate, whether it is one item or a full truck.

How a Job With Southwest Hauling Runs

From the first look at the job to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Call or Send the Form

Tell us what needs to come down, come out or get hauled off. A few photos help. We cover the Westside and South Bay, Beverly Hills to Long Beach.

2

Greg Looks at the Job

The owner prices the job at the property, free. He checks the structure, the access and where the trucks will sit, then gives you one number for the whole job.

3

Our Crews Do the Work

Three crews, our own trucks and skid steers. The teardown, the loading and the hauling stay with one company, so the schedule holds.

4

The Site Leaves Clean

Debris goes out on our trucks to licensed facilities. We sweep the street, clear the drive and leave the property ready for whatever comes next.

FAQ

Junk Removal Questions, Answered

Common questions about junk removal across the Westside and South Bay. Don't see yours? Give us a call and ask.

Call (310) 546-4855

How much does junk removal cost?
Price depends on how much space the load takes in our truck and what the items are. Access matters too, since stairs and long carries add labor time. Mattresses and appliances carry their own disposal fees, and e-waste does as well. We look at the load in person or from photos, then quote it free. Call 310-546-4855.
What items will you take?
Furniture, appliances, mattresses, hot tubs, yard debris, garage piles, renovation leftovers and e-waste all go on the truck. We cannot take hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, solvents, motor oil or anything flammable. Those go to a household hazardous waste drop-off site instead. Broken concrete and soil need a different truck, which is concrete removal.
How do I schedule a pickup?
Call and describe the load, or send photos of the pile. We give you a free estimate, then set a day and a window that works for you. Junk hauling fills the gaps between our demolition jobs, so we can often fit a load in soon. The crew shows up when scheduled and gets to work.
Do I have to move anything to the curb?
No. Our crew carries it out from wherever it sits, upstairs or at the back of the yard. Hot tubs get cut apart in place. Heavy items like safes, pianos, pool tables and full sheds are routine for a demolition crew. You point at what goes, and we do the lifting.
Where does my junk end up?
Usable furniture and working appliances go to donation when a local group will take them. Metal and clean green waste go to recycling yards. E-waste goes to a certified recycler, and what is left goes to a licensed transfer station. Nothing gets dumped on the street or left in your driveway.

Why Choose Southwest Hauling

Why Westside and South Bay Owners Call Southwest

Thirty Years in Los Angeles

Greg started Southwest Hauling in 1994 and still prices the jobs himself. The slogan on the trucks has not changed since: It's All About Service. Same owner, same phone number, same standard.

The Hauling Is Ours

Our own trucks and skid steers do the loading and the hauling. Debris leaves on our schedule, not a bin company's. The teardown and the haul-off are one job and one price.

City-Contract Discipline

Twenty years of City of Los Angeles contracts clearing foreclosed and vacant properties. That work runs on deadlines and documentation, and the habit stuck. Sites get finished, not abandoned.

Quiet on Purpose

Much of our work sits behind gates on the Westside, and NDAs are routine. Crews park where you say, keep the site tidy and do not talk about whose property they are on.
