Access decides most of the day in Long Beach. Belmont Shore and Naples sit on tight lots with alleys behind them. We often work off the alley there and keep the street clear. In Bixby Knolls and California Heights the lots are wider, so a truck and skid steer fit on the driveway.

Long Beach issues its own permits, and LADBS does not cover this city. Your demolition permit comes from the Community Development Department, Building and Safety Bureau. The Development Permit Center sits on West Ocean Boulevard downtown. A full house demolition also needs utility disconnects and a South Coast AQMD asbestos notification.
The Planning Bureau screens every demolition permit in the city. Jobs inside a historic district or the Coastal Zone get extra review. Long Beach has 18 designated historic districts, including California Heights, Belmont Heights, Wrigley and Bluff Park. Work there can require a Certificate of Appropriateness through the Cultural Heritage Commission. Requirements change, so confirm the current steps with the city before you set a date.
